My Displacement Method | The Blog

Throwback to the inception of this blog which began much earlier than expected. In 2008, I first thought of a blog about destinations both local and foreign (nothing astronomical.) It was to be an anthology of short stories, poems, essays about places I've been to (even the fictional.)

Since I was working on a foreign timezone in a domestic box, the drafts of the local tales became a drag and got lost into oblivion. Upon closer introspection, it was just a matter of decisions and indecision. Read: excuses.

Two years later, I traveled more but failed to recollect them. I began to suspect anomalies between endorphin and memory. I traversed the Visayas but fell short of weaving those memorable pieces (even for my perusal.)

In 2012, I conquered Metro Manila. Urban nightmares became a norm that self-respect would warrant you a great escape. There are places I’ve visited many times and some I’ve visited only once. There are so many I’ve yet to visit and some I probably never will.

After countless visions and revisions, inspiration and a bit of perspiration, My Displacement Method checked in and chartered a flight plan of its own. It is neither atlas nor guidebook so there is no intention to cover the entire globe.

With shameless velocity, it embarked on mission to change everything, regardless of duration and destination. The places shift according to memory and circumstance; geography evolves and becomes malleable. It is sometimes seduction and confrontation. Or both. Because this time, it is about the author.

has been trying to find his niche;
defies to be defined;
contradicts himself.

Place or be displaced | The Objectives

Simply, this blog aims to:
a. document travel impressions and experiences (quiet subjective but ultimately for my perusal)
b. share cost-effective travel tips (social responsibility)
